Neiman Marcus Originated in Dallas, Texas in 1907 on September 10th. Herbert Marcus, Herbert's sister Carie Marcus Neiman, and her husband A.L. Neiman started Neiman Marcus.Before this family started Neiman Marcus they were the ones who funded the sugary soda pop buisness later to be known as Coca-Cola.
A fire ruined the neiman Marcus store and all of it's merchandise.A temporary set up was built in just 17 days in 1913! By 1914 the new flagshop store was built along with childrens clothing.In 1926 A.L. and Carie's son Stanley Neiman joined the buisness. In 1979 Stanley Marcus retire from Neiman Marcus buisness.In 1993 Neiman Marcus was renamed Harcourt.Five years later they opened three new stores, specializing in gifts and fine jewlery.One year later Neiman Marcus bought 50% of Kate Spade's shoes and hand bags.
